Town look to African stopper

Grimsby Town have handed a trial to DR Congo international defender Eugene Kangulungu.

The 27-year-old has just departed Plymouth after his short-term deal with The Pilgrims was not extended.

Kangulungu had impressed during a trial spell at Home Park and earned a three-month deal - but he is now looking for a new employer.

Grimsby have also concluded a deal for Sheffield Wednesday's Craig Armstrong (pictured) - who has joined on an initial one-month deal.

"He's a very versatile lad. He's probably just what we're looking for at this moment in time," said Town's caretaker boss Graham Rodger.
