Swindon Town have signed striker Darius Henderson on a month's loan.Swindon Town have moved to sign striker Darius Henderson on a month's loan from Championship side Gillingham.
The 22-year-old, who only joined The Gills for an initial fee of £25,000 from Reading back in January, makes the move to The County Ground for a four-week spell.
The tall hit-man, who had a previous loan spell with Brighton & Hove Albion when he was a Royals player last season, should boost Andy King's squad before The Robins face West Country rivals Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
"I spoke to my agent a few days ago and he said that Swindon were interested in taking me on a month's loan," Henderson told the club's official website.
"I played against Swindon Town last season and was very impressed with the way that they performed and, to be honest, I am delighted to be here."
King, meanwhile, has played down speculation that he is interested in Sheffield Wednesday's transfer-listed striker Adam Proudlock.
Reports in South Yorkshire suggested King was to make a move for the former Wolves hit-man, who was listed after failing to settle with the Hillsborough club.
King, however, has ruled out such a move, claiming The Robins cannot afford the striker's wages.
"He has been linked but I think he could probably buy the club with the wages he in on," said King.
"There is no chance of him coming here - he is way outside my wage structure."
