MacLean booking quashed

Steven MacLean has had his booking against Chesterfield rescinded.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven MacLean has had the booking he picked up against Chesterfield rescinded.

Referee Ray Olivier had booked MacLean after the Scot pointed towards his backside whilst celebrating his second goal of the afternoon.

MacLean explained that the gesture was intended to indicate which area of his anatomy he had used to notch his 18th goal of the season.

Olivier promised to use video evidence to review his decision and The Football Association have since confirmed that the booking will not stand.

"Having given all evidence due consideration, the members decided that the caution issued to Mr MacLean will be rescinded," said the FA disciplinary commission.
