Sheffield Wednesday have wrapped up the capture of Graham Coughlan.
Sheffield Wednesday have officially completed the signing of Graham Coughlan.
Coughlan looked to be on his way to Bristol City after they had a bid accepted for him, but the 30-year-old had a change of heart when he heard of the interest from his former boss Paul Sturrock.
The defender told the Sheffield Wednesday website: "It's a happy day for me. This is a big club, a massive challenge lies ahead of us and I'm certainly up for that.
"This is a Premiership club and I believe it's a Premiership manager. The lure of both those factors was too much to turn down."
Coughlan leaves Plymouth for an undisclosed amount, and has signed a three-year deal at Hillsborough.
And Owls boss Sturrock could not hide his joy at capturing a player that he rates so highly.
"He has been a stalwart at Plymouth for the last four seasons," Sturrock told the club website.
"I'm delighted to be bringing in an experienced player who has tasted this league in 43 games last year."
