Cheltenham Town have signed midfielder Craig Armstrong on a free transfer.Cheltenham Town have signed former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Craig Armstrong.
The former Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield Town player arrives at Whaddon Road on a two-year deal after finishing last season with League One side Bradford City.
He moved to The Bantams on a free transfer from The Owls back in January and was recently on trial at League Two rivals Notts County.
He will now continue his career in Gloucestershire with The Robins, with manager John Ward pleased to have added a quality left-sided player to his squad.
"I'm really pleased to have reached this agreement with Craig," Ward told the club's official website.
"Hopefully, Craig will stabilise the left-hand side for us and that will allow Grant McCann to get forward more often."
Armstrong's arrival has been tempered by the news that fellow midfielder Brian Wilson fractured his arm in training on Tuesday.
Wilson will now spend the next six weeks on the sidelines and miss the rest of pre-season and the start of the new League Two campaign.
