Chester are keen on signing the Irish winger Richie Partridge.
Chester are keen on signing Irish winger Richie Partridge who was released by Liverpool at the end of last season.
Manager Keith Curle, though, faces stiff tough competition for Partridge, with the player reportedly attracting interest from Sheffield Wednesday, Tranmere and Doncaster, and is not confident of securing his signature.
Curle told reporters: "We've made an enquiry as he's a quality player. He's been on trial with Sheffield Wednesday and I know that other clubs are looking at him as well.
"If he gets offered a contract by a Championship or League One side then we won't be able to compete with them but we are always interested in good players."
Partridge gained a reputation in the game during a loan spell at Coventry City during the 2002/03 campaign, scoring four goals in 31 appearances at Highfield Road.
However, the player failed to make the breakthrough at Anfield and is now searching for a new club.
One player that has departed Chester for the coming season is goalkeeper Wayne Brown.
Brown has joined Conference club Hereford United on loan for the season and will contest the Edgar Street number one jersey with Craig Mawson.
