Nick Barmby struck to earn Hull a point against Wednesday at HillsboroughNick Barmby earned Hull City a point from an entertaining Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough with a superb volleyed goal.
The former England international finished off a flowing move involving Ian Ashbee and Craig Fagan with a first-time shot which gave David Lucas no chance.
Wednesday's on-loan striker Leon Best had earlier given the home side the lead when he finished off Glenn Whelan's mis-hit pass with a crisp left-foot shot.
Best was taken off before half-time - adding to the Owls' growing injury list - and his replacement Adam Proudlock missed a great chance to score when he headed tamely wide of goal.
At the other end Leon Cort and Jason Price each had shots cleared off the goalline as the Tigers created the better chances.
Last season's top scorer Stuart Elliott should have put Peter Taylor's side ahead but he somehow shot wide of an open goal.
