Brian Laws wants Neil Swarbrick to review the dismissals of Wade Small and Chris Brunt
Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has urged referee Neil Swarbrick to review the dismissals of Wade Small and Chris Brunt during his side's defeat at Coventry.
The Owls suffered their first defeat under Laws, but the focus following the 3-1 victory for The Sky Blues was on the dismissals of Small and Brunt.
"There is no doubt that the two incidents turned the game," said Laws.
"We will certainly be asking the referee to reflect on his decisions and we could well appeal on Monday.
"Anyone who knows Wade will know he is not a violent or aggressive player. Their player had his hands around his nether regions and he simply pushed him away.
"With Chris he was running away from goal towards the linesman and their player simply ran across him. It was not intentional."
Sky Blues chief Micky Adams was happy to see his side snap a three-game losing streak.
"We have been going through a tricky spell recently but that has happened to me before both as a player and a manager at this football club," he said.
"You have to get through it and we tried to relax the players before the game, although you could say we were given a helping hand as it was not a wonderful performance."
