Owls star eyes top spot

Jermaine Johnson wants to repay the fans by hopefully steering Sheffield Wednesday to top spot with victory at Tranmere.

The Owls passed up the chance to do that last Saturday when they were trounced 5-1 at Exeter but the Jamaica international put that down to "a bad day at the office" and is confident Alan Irvine's side will bounce back at Prenton Park on Boxing Day. Johnson told the club's official website: "We'll come back against Tranmere because we disappointed ourselves and the coaching staff, so we're looking forward to it. "It was really good against Bristol (Rovers) and we thought we could do the same (at Exeter) but in football sometimes you come and play and think you're going to win, but sometimes it doesn't happen. "We just need to keep our heads up at Tranmere and get the win. It would be great to get the win and go top. It would be great for the fans and a pleasure for me because it's been a long time since we were top of the league."
