Leicester City have handed a trial to former Ipswich youngster Caolan Lavery.

Teenager rejected short-term Ipswich deal

Leicester City have handed a trial to former Ipswich youngster Caolan Lavery. The 19-year-old, who has represented Northern Ireland at youth team level, scored for the Foxes' reserve side on Tuesday night. The Canadian-born forward left Ipswich after rejecting a short-term deal offered by boss Paul Jewell last month. Lavery missed a large chunk of last season with a knee injury, but a late goalscoring run for the Portman Road club's reserves and Under-18s impressed Jewell. Now he is hoping to get a longer deal at their big-spending Championship rivals.
