Sheffield Wednesday boss Gary Megson is hopeful Stoke winger Ben Marshall will return to Hillsborough after his loan spell ends.

Marshall, 20, a target for several other clubs, has scored five goals in 22 appearances for the Owls since arriving on a half-season loan in August and Megson has made no secret of his desire to keep him at the club. Marshall played his last game for Wednesday in their first home league defeat of the season against Charlton on Saturday and Megson told the club's official website: "Ben will go back to Stoke on Monday and take it from there. "He has been absolutely magnificent for Sheffield Wednesday and we'll still be doing everything that we possibly can to bring him back here. "I didn't think he was anything like the player we have been used to (against Charlton), but he has a lot going on right now and it's a lot for someone of 30 years old, never mind a 20-year-old."
