Scunthorpe have completed the signing of David Prutton on a three-month loan deal from Sheffield Wednesday.

The 30-year-old midfielder featured heavily in Wednesday's League One promotion campaign, going on to rack up 25 appearances and two goals, including a stunning strike on the opening day of last season. He joined the Owls in 2011 on a free transfer from Swindon Town and has also had spells at Colchester United, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Southampton, with Saints forking out £2.5-million for his services. His loan move to Glanford Park was completed in time for the midfielder to go straight into Alan Knill's squad for the Capital One Cup clash with Premier League side Norwich.
