The experienced frontman has dropped into the free agent pool this summer following his release by Bolton Wanderers.
There are no shortage of clubs said to be keen on the 36-year-old striker, with sides from across the Football League ready to welcome him into their ranks.
Wednesday are the latest to be linked with a move for the one-cap England international, with Owls boss Dave Jones having previously taken Davies to Southampton.
Davies is ruling nothing out and admits a return to the city of his birth could appeal to him.
He said in The Star: "When I was younger, I supported Sheffield United but my father supported Wednesday, so we were pretty split as a family.
"Everyone's different, of course, but if it's a club that appeals to you - the manager, the fans and the team - I would have to look at it.
"If an offer does come then I'll give it serious consideration."
