Antonio was hit by ankle and groin injuries last season which restricted him to 28 appearances. He also missed the last two months of the previous campaign due to a groin problem.
The 24-year-old was told his latest groin injury, sustained in February, would rule him out for the rest of the season but he returned to feature in the Owls' last seven games.
"I want to start next season flying," the former Reading winger told the club's official website.
"The frustration I had with my injuries last season is motivating me to come back even stronger.
"I'm working on my fitness and on my muscles to make sure I'm in the best possible shape I can be when we come back and it all starts again."
Wednesday narrowly avoided relegation in their first season back in the Sky Bet Championship in 2012/13 and finished nine points clear of the bottom three last season.
Antonio added: "We need to build as a team and compete higher up the table. We improved from our first season back in the Championship and finished comfortably clear of relegation.
"But now we need to look up. If we can start well and build some momentum, then who knows what can happen."
