The 22-year-old former West Brom full back has attracted the attentions of numerous top-flight clubs with his performances of late, but insists he has never had any intention of moving elsewhere.
"I am really happy here at Cardiff City and wanted to be part of it's future, the club and supporters have been really good to me and it took me no time at all to agree everything," Gabbidon told the club's official website.
"It wasn't a difficult decision because, since I've arrived, it has gone really well for me.
"I'm happy enough playing my football here, so I was delighted to extend my contract.
"It's quite nice to be made the offer when I still had two years left on my exisiting contract. You don't usually expect that to happen, so I must be doing well.
"It's a great time to be a Cardiff City player. Sam (Hammam) has made it clear that he wants to play in The Premiership, and so do the players. We are playing impressively and I hope it will continue."
Gabbidon and the rest of Lennie Lawrence's squad will have the opportunity to take another step towards The Premiership in the coming weeks as they face Stoke City in the first round of the play-offs this Sunday.
