The 23-year-old midfielder has recently spent a week training at Ninian Park, which included a reserve team outing against Derby.
The attacking midfielder, out of contract in the summer, is thought to have impressed the Cardiff management and could be playing First Division football in the New Year.
Hereford manager Graham Turner has no doubts that his player has the ability to play at a higher level and he is confident that Parry did himself justice on his trial.
''It seems he has done well and it was a great opportunity for him to show them what he could do,'' Turner stated.
''I think he enjoyed it. It's nice for Paul to know that a club like Cardiff are genuinely interested and I'm sure we'll reap reward of the confidence it will give him.''
Turner is thought to want £100,000 for his star midfielder and despite being under little pressure to sell, the Hereford boss admits he would not jeopardise the player's aspiration to play in the First Division.
''We would not stand in his way to better himself if it was a deal we were also happy with.
''But that's all for the future, for now Paul remains totally committed to Hereford United and he will continue to do his best for the club,'' Turner added.
