Daniel Gabbidon is pleased to have a break from club matters after linking up with the Wales squad.
The highly-rated defender has had to deal with financial problems at Ninian Park as Cardiff City battle to fend off relegation from The Championship.
Back-to-back World Cup qualifiers with Austria are the perfect remedy to focus Gabbidon's mind.
"It's always nice to come away with the international squad," he told Sky Sports News. "Get a change of scenery and meet up with players you haven't seen for maybe a couple of months.
"We've had a lot going on in the last couple of weeks at our club so, yes, it's nice to have a change of atmosphere and it's a different type of pressure really.
"We've had a few retirements; Gary Speed, 'Sav' [Robbie Savage]'s gone and a couple of others.
"That's brought the average age down really and I think the new manager has come in and is looking to the future.
"He's brought a lot of younger players into the squad and wants to build with the games we've got left in this campaign and look to the next one."
