Port Vale have signed striker Nathan Lowndes from Plymouth Argyle.Port Vale have signed striker Nathan Lowndes on a permanent basis from Championship side Plymouth Argyle.
The former Watford, St Johnstone, Livingston and Rotherham United hit-man has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Martin Foyle's side after falling down the striking pecking order at Home Park.
The 27-year-old could make his debut for the Potteries club at Barnsley on Saturday and Foyle was delighted that his long search for a striker has come to a successful end.
"I am delighted we have got our man at last," Foyle told the club's official website.
"We needed a striker to share the load and Nathan is a player who we know can get goals at this level, although I am not putting pressure on him to score the goals, because we need to spread it out.
"He is 27 years old and that is a good age - he has enough experience to help the youngsters along too.
"It has been a long wait but I feel it has been worth it. I could have got a younger player in on loan before now, but I wanted someone who wanted to play for Port Vale."
