Micky Evans' goal gave Plymouth a tight 1-0 victory over Burnley.A goal from Micky Evans was enough to give Plymouth a tight 1-0 victory over Burnley - their first win in eight matches.
A scrappy affair saw Burnley pile on the pressure in the second half, but fail to get the goal they deserved.
After a first half that had contained little in the way of meaningful chances, Plymouth took the lead at the beginning of the second period.
Rufus Brevett was the architect, picking out Evans who lashed the ball home for his third goal of the current campaign.
Burnley did their best to respond, with Jon Harley testing Romain Larrieu in the Plymouth goal with a free-kick and John Spicer hitting the target with a header.
In a match marred by seven bookings, Danny Coyne did well to tip a David Norris header round the post and Graham Branch missed a fine chance to level late on when he directed his header wide.
