On-loan striker enjoying Brighton stint

On-loan striker Ashley Barnes admits he does not know what the future holds at the end of the season. The forward, who is currently with Brighton from Plymouth, scored a superb goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers to take his tally for the Seagulls to four in seven games. Barnes is flourishing during his stint with Brighton, but with another year to run on his contract with the relegated Pilgrims he is due to return to Home Park in the summer. He said: "I've still got two games left and I hope there's more to come. "I can't thank the gaffer, Gus Poyet, enough. He has given me this chance and getting four goals in seven games is the best scoring form I've ever been in. "I'm loving it at Brighton. I've fitted in well, the fans have been great and, as I've got another year left on my contract at Plymouth after this season, we will just have to wait to see how things develop with regards to me staying at Brighton."
