Branston vows to win back place

Bradford City's out-of-favour central defender Guy Branston has vowed to win back his place in the starting line-up.

The centre-back, currently sidelined with a foot injury, has failed to feature for the Bantams since the beginning of October, but has set his sights on displacing the pairing of Andrew Davies and Luke Oliver after returning from a spell on loan at League Two rivals Rotherham. "I'm going to knock Davies off his pedestal and I'm going to go for Oliver's shirt as well," said Branston. "It's a healthy rivalry, though. You don't want to be in your comfort zone. "I cannot rave about those two enough. They're both top pros and have played very well this season. They deserve to be playing, but once I'm back fit I will challenge them. "Davies is one hell of a player, I love learning off him in training and Oliver is having a great season, probably his best one yet. "It's going to be hard to get in but I love the challenge, that's what I'm in football for."
