Pilgrims sweat on Lowry injury

Plymouth's pre-season preparations have suffered a setback with the news that new signing Jamie Lowry could miss the start of the season.

The former Chesterfield defender went off injured during the Pilgrims' 1-0 victory over Truro City on Tuesday night after taking a knock to his ankle. Manager Carl Fletcher told the club's official website: "I'm a little bit worried. Jamie caught the guy's boot and went down on his ankle. It swelled up straight away and it's a disappointing because he's a good player. "We've got Durrell [Berry] out injured at the moment and then we've got Jamie gone down so that's both my covers at right-back gone. "We'll wait and see (how bad it is). I don't want to say too much but he was in a lot of pain and it's a shame because he's a good player and a lovely lad and he's fitted seamlessly into our squad."
