The 22-year-old hit-man only moved to the Italian outfit last summer, and enjoyed a very promising start to his career with Serse Cosmi's side.
However, Bothroyd's form dipped in the second half of the season and, following their relegation from the Italian top-flight, Perugia have decided to try and cash in on him.
Palace and French side Sochaux are thought to be leading the chase for his signature, and both clubs are believed to have submitted bids for the ex-Coventry star.
Perugia are looking for at least é¼2.5 million (£1.5 million) for the striker, and have yet to receive what they consider a suitable bid.
One player who looks certain to leave the club in the near future is Brazilian Ze Maria whose transfer to Internazionale should be finalised by the end of the week.
