Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie thinks winger Jobi McAnuff can be a Premiership star.
Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie has backed winger Jobi McAnuff to be a Premiership star of the future.
McAnuff has been in outstanding form for the Selhurst Park club recently, scoring three in the last four matches, including the winner against Leeds United on Tuesday night.
But McAnuff has been forced to look on while his former Wimbledon team-mate Nigel Reo-Coker flourishes in the top flight for West ham.
However, Dowie insists that the 24-year-old still has time on his side.
"Jobi has added goals to his game this season and he is looking sharp in every game he plays," Dowie said.
He is improving all the time, and has the potential to play in the Premiership.
"Nigel Reo-Coker has done very well and he and Jobi are very close friends. When I first came to Palace, I wanted to sign Nigel, but he chose West Ham.
"Jobi is still young and has loads of room for development. His work ethic is superb."
