Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor insists centre-back Darren Ward is still a big part of his plans.
The former Watford and Millwall man has found himself down the pecking order of late at Selhurst Park, with Eagles boss Peter Taylor preferring to play Leon Cort and Mark Hudson in recent games.
Taylor says he has had tentative enquiries for the 28-year-old, but insists Ward remains part of his plans at Palace.
"A few clubs made a phone call about Darren, but it didn't go any further than that," Taylor told the club's official website.
"I want Darren Ward here though. I understand his frustrations at not being in the team, quite rightly so, but we have got three really good centre-halves and it's a difficult one for him at the minute.
"He is a top pro though and he's worked even harder at his game since he has been out of the team, which is first class."
One player that Taylor looks to set be without for the next few weeks is midfielder Stuart Green.
The former Newcastle United and Hull City player is reportedly facing six weeks on the sidelines after needing an operation to repair his injured shoulder.
