Southampton misfit Jason Puncheon is holding out for a permanent move away from St Mary's and will not be returning to Blackpool on loan.
The winger has not figured for Saints since last January, but is back on the South Coast following an unproductive loan spell with Queens Park Rangers.
Blackpool have enquired about Puncheon, who had a successful stint at Bloomfield Road last season, but Southampton manager Nigel Adkins says a similar deal is not on the cards.
"The transfer window is open. If someone wants to go and make a permanent bid for Jason Puncheon, go on then. But nobody has done that as yet," said Adkins.
"Maybe teams might like to take him on loan, but I don't think Jason wants to go on loan anywhere, he wants to get on and play his football.
"Eventually a decision will be made and in the meantime everyone will continue to work very hard to reach a solution to the situation that we have now."
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has also confirmed Puncheon will not be making a temporary return to the club.
Holloway said: "Is he available for loan again? No. It's as simple as that. We've asked the question, but he's not my player, so there's lots of players out there that I might have to consider."
