Burley asked about the duo when Platt made a bid for Town striker David Johnson, but the Forest boss insisted that the highly-rated midfielder Prutton will not leave the City Ground.
Speaking about the reports that Prutton was on his way to Portman Road, Platt said: "I don't really know where the story has come from but it's completely untrue.
"I spoke to George Burley when I was trying to sign David Johnson and he asked me about Prutton.
"Ipswich have watched him before in the past but it was just an innocent question. Managers talk about players all the time and it was no more than that.
"He asked about a number of other players, such as Marlon Harewood.
"Somebody from Ipswich has obviously made it up. But, in any case, David is not going anywhere."
Prutton`s talents are well known to a number of teams in The Premiership, with Newcastle United big admirers of the 19-year-old, but Magpies boss Bobby Robson is short of the available funds to make a bid at the present time.
Platt added that a renewed bid for Johnson may be in the pipeline, after an earlier £2.5 million offer was rejected, with the former England international saying: "The move is on hold at the moment. When there is something to say, I will say it, but not until then."
