Ipswich's Scott Barron is to undergo a second operation on his groin injury.
Promising Ipswich defender Scott Barron is to undergo an operation that will mean he will miss the rest of this season.
The 19-year-old is suffering from a long-term groin injury, and he will be hoping that a second operation will help him in his bid to make a full recovery back to first team action.
The season started so brightly for Barron, as he made his first-team debut in the Carling Cup win over Brentford.
However, he has suffered major discomfort from October onwards, and it has become increasingly apparent that his first experience under the knife before Christmas was unsuccessful.
As he prepared for his second period of surgery on Monday, the highly-rated Barron remained philosophical about his unfortunate situation.
"I'm obviously disappointed that I've got to have more surgery, but injuries are part of the game and I have to get on with it," Barron told the Ipswich Town website.
Both Ipswich and Barron will be hoping that his second operation will lead to a speedy return to the first team, and a possible Premiership debut.
