Juan happy in England

On-loan Ipswich midfielder Jimmy Juan wants to stay in England permanently.

On-loan Ipswich Town midfielder Jimmy Juan wants to stay in England on a permanent basis.

Juan is spending this season on loan from Monaco, after originally moving to Portman Road last term.

His debut was delayed until earlier this month and he made his first start for Joe Royle's Ipswich in Tuesday's Carling Cup defeat to Yeovil Town.

He admits he had opportunities to stay in France after deciding to leave Monaco due to his limited amount of involvement in the first team.

But the 22-year-old is enjoying his stint with Ipswich and is hoping it will lead to a long-term future in English football.

"My contract with Monaco runs until 2007 and I could have stayed in France," admitted Juan.

"Three clubs - Le Havre, Troyes and Bastia - all wanted to sign me on loan but I much preferred to come back to Ipswich.

"Now I plan to work hard and make the most of my opportunity."
