Sam Parkin scored to earn Ipswich a point from their trip to Brighton.Sam Parkin's fifth goal of the season earned Ipswich a point from a 1-1 draw with Brighton at The Withdean Stadium.
Brighton, who are celebrating after being granted permission to build a new 23,000-seat stadium, went ahead early on through Dean Hammond, but had to settle for a share of the spoils.
Sebastien Carole saw a shot blocked by Jason de Vos and Alexandre Frutos headed wide before Brighton grabbed the lead when Hammond fired in from Colin Kazim-Richards' cross.
It took a superb save from Ipswich keeper Lewis Price to deny Frutos a second from a well-struck free kick and the French winger was then off target with another effort from long range.
Ipswich drew level six minutes before the break when Parkin headed home from a Fabian Wilnis cross, and either side could have gone on to win in the second half.
Parkin was agonisingly close when he crashed a header against the bar from Darren Currie's delivery and Dean Bowditch then headed wide.
Brighton then struck the woodwork when Leon Knight drilled a shot against the bar while, at the other end, Richard Naylor should have done better when he put a close range header too high.
Ipswich were then saved in the final minute when Price produced another great save to touch over Jake Robinson's fierce shot.
