Burnley loan star Gary Cahill has paid testament to team-mate Frank Sinclair.Burnley loan star Gary Cahill has told skysports.com that Frank Sinclair has stepped into the breach left by Robbie Blake as The Clarets' captain.
Blake and young star Richard Chaplow both left for Premiership clubs in the winter transfer window, with the former moving onto Birmingham.
Manager Steve Cotterill has finally brought in a striker to replace Blake's goals, with Ade Akinbiyi arriving from Stoke, but Cahill, who has excelled on loan from Aston Villa, reveals that Sinclair has taken over the captain's role with aplomb.
"Robbie is a great person and a great captain but I think Frank's stepped into his shoes.
"You know that with Frank's great experience he can step into that role so morale has stayed high even though we have made a few changes.
"I used to play against good players in the reserves, but playing with Frank and John [McGreal] you just learn things off both of them.
"I'm enjoying my football at the moment.
"The FA Cup run gave us a lot of confidence so morale has stayed very high."
