Bournemouth have accepted a £35,000 bid from Burnley for John Spicer.Bournemouth have confirmed they have reluctantly accepted a £35,000 bid from Burnley for midfielder John Spicer.
According to the League One outfit, the former Arsenal man had a clause in his Cherries deal that allowed him to speak to any club that makes an offer of over £25,000.
The 21-year-old is reported to have concurred on a three-year contract and passed a medical with The Clarets.
Turf Moor boss Steve Cotterill is keen to boost his threadbare squad with the addition of Spicer and Cherries chairman Peter Phillips admitted there was little his side could do when Burnley's offer came in.
"We were fortunate to sign a player of John's talents for a fee of £10,000," Phillips told the club's official website.
"The deal we struck with John's agent was only possible if we included an escape clause, though whilst saying that, we have more than recouped our outlay, whilst of course, securing John's talents for the past year."
