Two quick-fire goals from Eddie Lewis and Rob Hulse cancelled out Garreth O'Connor's opener to secure all three points for Leeds.
Both sides struggled to create any clear goalscoring chances in the first half with both defences well on top.
The game burst into life in the second half and Burnley broke the deadlock on the hour mark when O'Connor scored from the penalty spot.
Ade Akinbiyi won the penalty after being felled by Sean Gregan and O'Connor made no mistake from the spot.
Leeds drew level on 70 minutes with a fine free kick from Lewis.
Jon Harley fouled David Healy on the edge of the box and Lewis floated a brilliant free kick past Brian Jensen.
Leeds completed the comeback five minutes later with Hulse heading home Lewis's cross from close-range.
Burnley threw everything into attack in a bid to get something out of the game, but Leeds held on for all three points.
