Tony Grant and Lee Bell are close to joining new clubs after leaving Crewe.
Crewe have released two players on transfer deadline day, with Tony Grant now on the brink of joining Accrington and Lee Bell angling for a move to Burton Albion.
Alex boss Dario Gradi has agreed to terminate the contracts of the two fringe players by mutual consent.
Former Everton midfielder Grant has made just five appearances with the League One side this season after struggling with a problematic Achilles injury.
The 32-year-old - who moved to Gresty Road in 2005 - is now set to join League Two Stanley according to his former employers.
Also on the move is fellow midfielder Bell, who leaves Gradi's side after making 62 appearances following his graduation from the club's youth academy.
Bell is hoping to join Burton after previously spending a spell on loan with the Conference side in 2005.
Crewe have also confirmed that defender Mark Roberts is likely to join Northwich - where he has been on loan - after being released.
However, Gradi is struggling to bring in new faces and a move for John Spicer looks doomed to failure as the Burnley man is stalling over a loan switch.
