Bairns starlet eager to secure first win at Tynecastle

Falkirk's promising midfielder Scott Arfield sees Saturday's trip to Hearts as the ideal match the kick-start the club's season. The Bairns find themselves bottom of the SPL table eight games into the new season, but it is not for the want of trying. Arfield insists the club's early displays in the season were not rewarded with the points they deserved and that lady luck was often against them. Hearts' form has been patchy this season and the Scotland Under-21 starlet sees no reason why they cannot upset the odds. "Hearts is going to be a massive game and it's a game that we need to take something from," Arfield told skysports.com. "I think in the first four games we played some good stuff and there were positives to take out of every game.

Inspiration

"For the last three games we've not really deserved to take anything from the games. From that aspect it's been a bit disappointing, but Hearts is a great environment to play in. It's a great place to play football. It's something that inspires the Hearts players, but it inspires all the other teams that go there. Hopefully we can go there and cause a wee upset. "It's very tight, but it's what we need to do, we need to focus on ourselves and the first thing we need to do is get points on the board and start winning games." Arfield is yet to open his open his account and the 20-year-old has revealed adding more goals to his game is something that he is working hard to achieve. "I've not had that many shots to be honest. I said at the start of the year it's something that I've got to add to my game," he continued. "It's something I need to improve and I'll be trying my hardest to score on Saturday. It'll be a great game to open my account." The youngster was reportedly subject of a bid from Hamilton last summer and while his long-term future continues to be a source of speculation, he is currently enjoying his time with the club.
Escape
However, Arfield has conceded if the club were to be relegated then he would consider his options, but following their impressive escape at Inverness last season, he believes they will avoid the drop again this time around. "I've not really though about [relegation] to be honest, but I think if that situation is looking like it might evolve I'll look at my ambitions and where I want to go, but for now I'm delighted to be at Falkirk. "They are an ambitious club, albeit they are at the bottom of the league but I don't think we'll go down. However, you're never too good to go down. "I took great experience from this situation last year before we went to Inverness knowing that if you win the game we stay in the league. That was possibly the greatest game of my football career so far. "There's always a silver lining, obviously you don't want to be involved in that, but we're here to fight for the cause and we're going to do our upmost to be in the league next season."
