Woods out for up to six weeks but Stock set to return ahead of schedule

Doncaster have received a blow with the news that midfielder Martin Woods is out for up to six weeks. Woods suffered a groin injury in last week's home win against Sheffield Wednesday and a scan has revealed a slight tear. But Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll is hoping the blow will be softened by the return of skipper Brian Stock "within two to three weeks". O'Driscoll said: "Martin has had a scan and he's picked up a slight tear, so the usual prognosis is four to six weeks and it's unfortunate.

Fingers crossed

"But fingers crossed we can get Brian Stock back in some time during the next two to three weeks, so maybe it's not as bad as it could have been." Woods, a virtual ever-present for Doncaster this season, had been struggling with the problem for a little while and was replaced at half-time against the Owls. Stock, sidelined since September after undergoing ankle surgery, is a month ahead of schedule in terms of his rehabilitation.
