Burnley have completed the signing of forward Andre Gray from Championship rivals Brentford for an undisclosed club-record fee.

The former Luton player rejected a move to Bristol City on Thursday after a disagreement over his personal terms, with a fee of £7m agreed between the two clubs earlier this week.

Gray trained with Brentford on Thursday and the Bees were hoping to be able to call upon the player for the visit to Turf Moor for their Sky Bet Championship fixture against Burnley this weekend.

But the 24-year-old has now completed a move to Turf Moor and Burnley manager Sean Dyche is thrilled with the acquisition of a player he has been monitoring for some time.

"Andre is a player who we have been aware of since his Hinckley Town days in non-league," Dyche told Burnley's official website.

"He has worked very, very hard to get to the level he's at. He has risen up the ladder and, in many ways, had a similar pathway to two former strikers here - Danny Ings and Charlie Austin.

"In that respect there is a rawness, a hunger and a great desire from him to continue his education and go even further, and we intend that to be with us in the immediacy and also in the future."
