Nielsen has been in fine form since joining The Canaries on loan, hitting four goals in as many games, including one against The Dons.
The former Grimsby Town striker has made it clear he does not want to return to Selhurst Park and would like to move to East Anglia on a full-time basis.
Worthington revealed a fee had been agreed with Wimbledon at the inception of Nielsen's loan deal, and admitted the player's form has put the pressure "firmly on the Norwich Board" to ensure he stays at Carrow Road.
The Canaries boss was delighted after his side's 5-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, but warned that his lack of transfer funds may ultimately cost his side in the promotion race.
"Some clubs will be able to go and spend a million pounds on a new player to help their effort, but Norwich are not going to be able to do that," Worthington said.
"So that may be the frustrating thing that will let us down at the end of the day."
