Grant backs Earnie return

Peter Grant believes Robert Earnshaw could make a return before the end of the season.

Norwich manager Peter Grant has confirmed that Robert Earnshaw could make a return before the end of the season.

The club's leading goalscorer tore a groin muscle in January and the early fear was that he would not play again this term.

However, with Earnshaw's rehabilitation going well, Grant is quietly confident the Welshman could get a run-out between now and the campaign's close.

"I know how hard he's working but as an injured player there are a million things you don't feel," said Grant.

"Earnie hasn't kicked a ball yet and he's not twisting and turning.

"But I'm hoping he'll be able to play. From a psychological point of view I would like him to get a run-out but I will only do that if he's 100 per cent."
