Norwich agree terms with Everton for striker

Newly-promoted Norwich City have agreed a £2.5million fee with Everton for striker James Vaughan. Vaughan spent last season on loan in the Championship with Crystal Palace, where he scored nine goals as he helped them avoid relegation. Norwich have now made their move and have agreed terms with Premier League club Everton. The Canaries will now discuss personal terms with the 22-year-old, who looks set to leave Everton after coming through the ranks at Goodison Park. Palace have admitted they would love the chance to sign Vaughan on a permanent deal, but chairman Steve Parish admits they could not challenge a Premier League club. "It is going to be difficult for us to compete with top-flight clubs," said Steve Parish.
