City face fellow strugglers Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday knowing victory will offer a huge boost to their chances of survival.
Adams, who replaced the sacked Chris Hughton and has been tasked with ensuring the club retain their top-flight status, accepts they have work to do to ensure that happens.
"We are in trouble, fourth from bottom in the table with a five-point cushion on the team we are playing on Saturday," he said.
"We need people who are willing to give everything. That is the spirit, desire and determination these supporters deserve.
"They are there every week, win, lose or draw. As long as I have been here, they turn up.
"They make their commitment and we have got to repay that."
