Premier League: Neil Adams says clash Fulham will not seal Norwich's fate

New Norwich boss Neil Adams says Saturday's clash with Fulham will not determine the Canaries' fate in the top division.

Adams was appointed manager on Sunday after Chris Hughton was sacked following defeat to West Brom.

That defeat left Norwich just five points clear of the relegation zone and third-bottom Fulham.

The Canaries still have to face Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in their battle for Premier League survival.

Adams said: "I keep hearing the must-win, the one-game season. It's a five-game season. We're capable of beating anybody.

"If people want to write us off, great. We're used to that. We're down at the bottom end of the table with six, seven, eight other clubs who have been written off on a weekly basis.

"We've got to stay in this division this year. That's the one and only goal."

Describing the past week as a "whirlwind", Adams spoke with Hughton, Paul Trollope and Colin Calderwood, who left with the former manager, out of courtesy to acknowledge their departures.

Norwich have won just two away games all season and are looking to bag three points at this weekend's away fixture at Fulham - who they have not beaten home or away since 1986.

Adams added: "It (the record versus Fulham) isn't going to have a significant bearing on what happens on Saturday.

"(Fulham are) a team who were probably lacking a lot of confidence after the Everton game but had a great result last week. I'll be confident when we kick off the players will be ready."
