Wolves have rejected a £10m bid from Norwich City for England U21 striker Benik Afobe, according to Sky sources.

It is Carrow Road manager Alex Neil's third approach for the talented forward after two previous offers were turned down.

Reports have claimed Wolves have told Norwich they want £14m for the player but so far they have fallen short of that figure.

Former Arsenal youth player Afobe only moved to Molineux on a permanent basis at the start of the year in a deal worth around £2m after he impressed in the first half of last season on loan at MK Dons.

Having scored 19 goals there, he went on to net another 13 times under Kenny Jackett as Wolves finished seventh in the Championship.

Afobe has continued his good form into this season and has already scored three times against Blackburn, Newport and QPR.

Wolves recently released a statement saying "neither Benik nor any of Wolves' first-team forward players will be sold this season", in light of Norwich's interest.

That hasn't deterred Neil, however, who is persisting with his attempts to recruit the 22-year-old as he looks to bolster his attack before the transfer window closes.
