The 20-year-old has been sidelined with a string of injury problems since his £1.25 million signing from Ghent in the summer of 1998.
The player broke a leg in his first reserve team game and has since suffered hamstring and knee ligament trouble. The latter injury required an operation in October to lengthen a tendon in his right leg that was rubbing on his knee joint.
The player has now declared himself fully fit which has delighted Strachan (pictured). "It is great having Laurent back with us and it is like I have a new signing at the club."
