Strachan is delighted to see so many of his starlets proving their worth to The Sky Blues in such a difficult situation and he claims that it will make them better players in the future which can only be good for Coventry.
Jay Bothroyd, Barry Quinn, Chris Kirkland, Craig Bellamy, John Eustace and Marcus Hall have been included in the side recently and Strachan is pleased at how they are handling the pressure at this tough time of the season with so much at stake.
"We have got a young side out there at the moment," said Strachan. "My lads are younger than David O'Leary's. We had six of them on the pitch against Sunderland in the starting line-up.
"Chris Kirkland in goal is only 19, Jay Bothroyd up front is just 18, Barry Quinn and even our record signing Craig Bellamy are only 21, John Eustace is 22 and Marcus Hall 23. Even Lee Carsley is only 25 although he looks 36.
"There's a lot of promise. They get a bit nervous at times like towards the end of the match with Sunderland.
"But I've said to them 'you may as well play the game properly - and if you make a mistake playing the game properly then be alright with that.'"
