With Andy Morrell already ruled out with a twisted knee that will keep him on the sidelines for up to four weeks, Black has now learnt that Coventry's alternative strike-force of Patrick Suffo and substitute Gary McSheffery, will be joining the former Wrexham man on the treatment table.
Cameroon international Suffo is set to have an X-ray on his foot and impressive young striker McSheffery is struggling with a back injury.
At the other end of the field, veteran defender Steve Staunton faces a month on the sidelines after a torn hamstring forced him to the dugout at half time.
These injuries to three of the club's strikers has led manager Eric Black to delay the departure of Dele Adebola.
The former Crewe and Crystal Palace forward has been told he is surplus to requirements at Highfield Road, but a proposed move to Notts County is being temporarily postponed, as Black assesses the fitness of his alternative strikers.
''I'll wait 24 hours,'' Black told the club's official website. ''There's a strong interest from Notts County, but I will have to hold back to see how many of my players are fit for the weekend.''
