Bristol City have completed the return of defender Louis Carey from Coventry City.Bristol City have completed the return of defender Louis Carey from Championship side Coventry City.
The 28-year-old left Ashton Gate to join The Sky Blues in the summer, but he became unsettled at Highfield Road in recent weeks following the arrival of Micky Adams as the managerial successor to Peter Reid.
Carey has signed a two-and-a-half contract with the West Country club and should start on Saturday when Brian Tinnion's Robins travel to face League One high-flyers Hull City.
His arrival is a boost for City following the club's disappointing last-minute defeat to Chesterfield - a match that was seen on Sky Sports 1.
The Robins came from two goals down and were heading for a draw before Mark Hudson scored his second goal in the dying stages to take the points back to Saltergate.
Another Coventry player to leave the club by mutual consent on Monday is midfielder Eric Deloumeaux.
The former Aberdeen player made only three appearances for The Sky Blues this season.
Meanwhile, on-loan Robins defender Craig Ireland has returned to parent club Peterborugh United after three weeks at Ashton Gate.
