Coventry City have loaned keeper Scott Shearer to Rushden & Diamonds.Coventry City have allowed young goalkeeper Scott Shearer to join Rushden & Diamonds on a one-month loan.
The 24-year-old has only made eight appearances this season, staying firmly behind on-loan Manchester United youngster Luke Steele in the pecking order.
New Sky Blues boss Micky Adams also further reinforced his group of shot stoppers with the arrival of 33-year-old Ian Bennett from Birmingham City on Wednesday.
Shearer was no longer required as first team back-up, so has moved in an attempt to secure regular first team football with the League Two side.
Coventry signed Shearer from Scottish side Albion Rovers in the Summer of 2003, and he even broke into the Scottish national squad in that year under ex-boss Berti Vogts.
However, the player's career has not progressed as he would have liked since then, and he will now have the chance to help Rushden in their fight against relegation to The Conference.
The League Two side, meanwhile, have also handed trials to former Northampton Town midfielder Martin Reeves, former Chesterfield striker Jez Mitchell and former Torquay United defender Narada Bernard.
One player that is set to leave Nene Park by mutual consent is midfielder Daniel Talbot.
The son of former Diamonds boss Brian, Talbot was sidelined with a fractured kneecap back in September.
