Celtic have allowed Adam Virgo to join Coventry City on a season-long loan.
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has allowed Adam Virgo to join Coventry City on a season-long loan.
Strachan has helped out his former club by sanctioning the defender's loan switch to The Ricoh Arena.
Virgo only joined the SPL giants 12 months ago, with Strachan explaining his reasons for granting the 23-year-old a move.
"Adam Virgo is going on loan to Coventry," Strachan told the club's official website.
"He has got to start playing football now, that's been a year without regular football and he has to get regular games."
The Bhoys paid £1.5 million to sign the versatile stopper from Brighton last summer, but Virgo started just three SPL games last season.
Meanwhile, Strachan admits he is considering the possibility of loaning out more fringe members of his championship-winning squad.
Strachan added: "There might be another one or two who might be moving out on loan or moving, but we will just have to see.
"If there is interest from elsewhere in some of our players we will be open-minded. If we think that it is beneficial for the club and for the player then we will look at it."
