Seasiders target Claus

Blackpool have confirmed that Coventry City midfielder Claus Jorgensen is a target.

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has confirmed that Coventry City midfielder Claus Jorgensen is a transfer target for the League One club.

The Seasiders, boosted by major financial investment from Latvian Valery Belokon this summer, have already raided The Sky Blues to sign striker Andy Morrell.

Grayson has now turned his attentions to Faroe Islands international Jorgensen, who has been on Coventry's transfer list after falling down the pecking order at The Ricoh Arena.

"We are being linked with quite a few players at the moment and yes, Claus is one," Grayson told the Blackpool Gazette.

"He is a player I played with at Bradford during my time there and he would be a good addition to the squad, as would be the two or three others we are trying to get at the moment.

"It's really a case of wait and see and we will keep going right up to the transfer deadline next Thursday night (August 31) and see where we are with stuff then.

"We are just keeping our options open, and maybe the players are as well."

Another midfielder that the Bloomfield Road club are running the rule over is former Borussia Dortmund man Vladimir But.

The Russian international playing in Blackpool's reserves recently and brings a wealth of playing experience with him.

Currently with Russian Premier League side Shinnik Yaroslavl, the 29-year-old is keen on a move to English football, but his wage demands are thought to be a possible stumbling block towards completing a deal at Bloomfield Road.
